A relief from the Arch of Titus in Rome Italy, photographed circa 1955. The carving depicts spoils, including the Menorah and the trumpets of Jericho, being carried away from the Temple after the Siege of Jerusalem in 70 AD. The arch was built to commemorate the Roman emperor Titus Caesar Augustus, who had been the military commander responsible for the siege.
